New Xyleme Release Leads Industry in Open Formats and Standards-based Learning Content Management

Built end-to-end on a 100% native XML platform, Xyleme's solution ensures global scalability, future-proofed content, and an end-to-vendor lock-in.

Boulder, CO; November 24, 2009 Xyleme® Inc., the leading provider of 100% XML, SCORM 2004 certified learning content management solutions today announced the latest release of their flagship product, Xyleme LCMS. The latest release reaffirms, and extends even further, Xyleme’s commitment to open formats and aggressive standards support.

With Xyleme LCMS, the entire content lifecycle, from authoring to storage to publishing, is based on 100% native XML. This enables effortless reuse across modalities and most importantly, breaks the long standing lock on training content held by vendors. With Xyleme LCMS, content can now be easily leveraged for functions and industry standards outside of learning. For example, Xyleme’s support of the ePub standard has allowed customers to publish their single source of open XML-based training content to multiple ebook devices.

“In the last quarter, we’ve signed a record number of enterprise deals,” commented Mark Hellinger, President and CEO of Xyleme. “This is a strong validation of what the market is clamoring for but is failing to get from older proprietary learning content management technologies: support for multiple blended learning models, ease of integration with enterprise content and applications, and content that is truly future-proofed. As global CIO’s will attest to, only native XML technologies can provide these advantages."

What the industry has to say:

“The common theme I am seeing from Xyleme customer projects is the ability to future proof content by breaking it down into smaller XML chunks that can be reused or redeployed in multiple ways. What these organizations are finding through this process is that they are able to reduce development times - not just across the production of one output, but across multiple channels. Having a single source of open XML content ready for future deployment to any modality and level of customization I think is a great competitive advantage to have.”
Bryan Chapman, Chief Learning Strategist at Chapman Alliance

"An XML LCMS will enable us to customize our materials in real-time in response to client requirements. Being able to simultaneously publish to print, e-books, online course and mobile technologies will open new markets and modes of study. We're tremendously excited by the potential across the business."
John Yates, Commercial Operations Director of BPP

“For large enterprise projects, seamless integration and global scalability take critical priority. Xyleme’s open format and strict adherence to standards has allowed us to quickly and seamlessly integrate learning content management with multiple Documentum ECM modules. We see tremendous promise for this technology as we roll out projects to learners worldwide.”
Lee Fife, VP Solutions Delivery at Flatirons Solutions
