FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Time Out New York Launches Enhanced Event Services Using Xyleme Multi-Channel Publishing SolutionXyleme’s Single-Source XML Solution Now Powers Multiple Time Out Subscriber PortalsSan Diego - July 14, 2005 - Xyleme® Inc. and Time Out New York (TONY) today announced the launch of Time Out Chicago’s online listing subscription service built on the Xyleme Multi-Channel Publishing Solution. The solution addresses a significant challenge TONY faces: the ability to store its content in a flexible, yet structured way for customization and distribution in multiple formats, such as print format or HTML, without disrupting its existing editorial process. This application follows the successful introduction of Time Out New York Kids subscription portal in 2004, also built on the Xyleme platform. Using Xyleme, TONY stores its content in a channel-independent XML format. From this single source, content is assembled and seamlessly pushed to print, online and other formats. Thus the Xyleme solution allows TONY to augment its weekly print publications, providing subscribers with the opportunity to use Time Out Chicago’s online edition (www.timeoutchicago.com) to plan events and outings, even at a moment’s notice. “Xyleme Multi-Channel Publishing has driven significant efficiencies in our production and distribution processes,” added Alison Tocci, President / Group Publisher Time Out New York, “Best of all, it allows us to continually enhance our subscriber services and open up new revenue channels as we extend our content to other media.” Using Xyleme’s powerful XML query engine, a Time Out Chicago subscriber can now query across any number of attributes to ask exact questions and retrieve precise results. For example, in a single search, a parent can find theater events that both cater to children under 10 years of age and have ticket prices under $20. Xyleme is also used to automatically update TONY’s Web sites and “push” relevant information directly to users as new events are added or changed. “As a premier publisher, TONY’s content must always be accurate, up-to-date, and immediately available to their customers, when they need it and how they need it,” commented Terry McGee, Xyleme Vice President, Marketing. “The Xyleme implementations at Time Out New York illustrate how Xyleme Multi-Channel Publishing Solution helps top organizations to fully exploit their own content and extend their market leadership.” About XylemeXyleme, Inc. provides SCORM 2004 certified learning content management solutions that enable single-source publishing of learning content.
