Greg has over 25 years of experience in starting and growing software companies in evolving
markets. He has both
created and run start-ups, as well as large public companies, and is familiar with all
aspects of the business.
Greg founded object-oriented tools leader Advanced Software Technologies, growing it into
the number two player
behind Rational Software before it was acquired. He has implemented turnarounds as President
of Xitec Software,
Inc. and was the General Manager of the public company BluePhoenix. Greg has worked for Bell
Lockheed Martin, and IBM, and he holds an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of
Illinois and a B.S. in
Business from the University of Colorado.
Gilles ArnaudChief Financial Officer
Gille's wide-ranging background in finance, including 15 years as a corporate and investment banker in New York,
Paris, and London. Prior to Xyleme, Gilles spent ten years as the financial executive of a venture-backed
software company and was pivotal in raising funds in Europe and the US, as well as in developing the business.
He managed the merger of the company with an international investment group, as well as its subsequent sale.
Gilles is a graduate from the “Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris” (MBA program of Sciences Po) and majored
in economics at the University of Bordeaux.
Michael GradVice President of Sales
Michael has made a career out of building successful sales organizations in both large, public companies and
start-ups. Before joining Xyleme, Michael was the President & CEO of Timely Medical Innovations, a medical
products company. In just five years the company tripled revenue and was then sold to TIDI Products. Prior to
Timely Medical, Michael spent his entire career in the technology sector where his sales organizations drove
rapid revenue growth. Michael was the Vice President of Sales at Silver Creek Systems, a company specializing in
product data management, which was sold to Oracle Corporation. And Michael was previously the Vice President of
Sales for Interactive Group, an ERP software supplier that achieved an IPO and was later acquired. Michael is a
graduate of Franklin and Marshall College.
Leslie FarinellaVice President of Customer Success
Leslie Farinella comes to Xyleme with over 15 years experience as a training strategy and design consultant,
working with such organizations as GE, Citigroup, Johnson & Johnson, and Nielsen. With a background in
engineering and an advanced degree in Curriculum and Instruction, she is able to help organizations re-imagine
their learning content strategy to optimize learning efficiency through the use of innovative learning
techniques and technologies, while expanding their learning ecosystem to support the modern learner. Leslie’s
expertise in business process change management, information architecture and teaching strategy helps Xyleme
customers succeed on their journey to high performance learning content.
Stuart GrossmanVice President, Education and Training
Stuart brings to Xyleme a rich background in the design, development, and implementation of training systems and
performance support tools. Prior to Xyleme, Stuart was a Curriculum Design Manager at Amgen, a global
biotechnology company. He also founded a consulting group with Dr. Allison Rossett and Dr. Bob Hoffman at San
Diego State University, bringing together faculty, professional staff, and talented graduate students to create
innovative new learning applications. Having spent most of his career at the intersection of technology and
instructional design, he has personally developed training for numerous multi-national organizations and
received his Master's Degree in Educational Technology from San Diego State University.
Trey SpivaChief Technology Officer
Trey has 20 years of experiences in all phases of implementing and delivering software. He
joined Xyleme in 2012 and served as the Chief Architect until 2016. Prior to joining Xyleme,
Trey worked as an architect at the startup Acteea, a SaaS Ecommerce analytic company. He has
also worked as a senior engineer and architect for Sun Microsystems where he served as a
team lead. Trey was responsible for planning releases, leading the team in developing and
releasing software products. Other areas of experience include SaaS ecommerce platform,
software Development tools, and satellite command and control applications. Trey is a
graduate of University of Arkansas.
Jim FranzelVice President, Engineering
Jim has a passion for developing and delivering quality software and services, and has spent
his 25 year career focused on selling, building, and delivering software to Fortune 500
companies. Prior to working at Xyleme, Jim held senior leadership roles in software
development organizations, responsible for project delivery and product releases. Jim worked
as VP Presales and Project Delivery at Blue Phoenix Solutions, and directed product and
release initiatives at companies including Embarcadero Technologies, Avid Technology, and
Tektronix Broadcast/Media. Through these endeavors, he has accumulated in depth hands-on
working knowledge of software operations, agile development processes, automated test
strategy, quality assurance, project/program management principles, and mission-critical
roll-outs. Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from MSOE.
